I usually don’t use this film (Ilford HP5), but I kinda love the almost sepia tones it gives when pushed up to 1600. Plus, the beauty of the ocean and sky merging into one.

The area around there is changing really fast, it is both exciting and very weird to see it all happening in front on you in a space of only a year; changes that once took a decade.
But, then, these bring me back to wanting to run back to black and white.
So many things about processing myself that I love. When I accidentally scratch the emulsion, when I drop it, when I mess up the timings and leave it too long.
I’m in such a color mood recently. I’m really into faded, washed out color photos in the day, and grainy slightly underexposed color in the night.
I sometimes feel like with color people look and expect too much reality, which black and white helps prevent by looking nothing like reality. But, once washed out or grainy or some other wonderful imperfection, people stop looking for reality and look for some approximation of memory.
Break for some hipstery chicks in various states of undress?
I love this photo, it makes me wanna get a beautiful 6x6 medium format camera and only ever shoot medium format for the rest of my life.
If you aren’t in some sort of state of crying at the end of this you are probably not human.
This is what it is like if you go to one of those Evangelical churches. Non-threatening people dressed sharp, with scarves and gloves and little cute babies around.
Also, take lesson that these guys are like two of the twenty people in the entire world who can do the whole ‘sunglasses on all the time’ thing.

Pretty much, Moesha and some chick called Monica (who did have some other song once) argue over Mekhi Phifer.
The whole song kinda sounds like someone with asthma breathing out right into your ear really loud for three minutes.
I heard that Moesha and Monica did actually really hate each other, and wouldn’t talk on set, or even make eye contact. I bet Moesha beat the shit out of Monica at the end of it all. I so wouldn’t fuck with Moesha.
I love the end. All of a sudden it is just all ‘bam! sucks for you’.

I remember I had a friend had the ‘complete Offspring collection’. I’m not sure what happened to him. I’m of course assuming he is still totally awesome.
Also, big failing in this video is that once you got a car like that, you definitely will get to bone at least one girl. Like, maybe not one of these insanely hot rap girls they have in this video. But like, he could for sure land some girl from like Delaware.

This was Jennifer Lopez’s first song, I am pretty sure. I don’t really care if it isn’t, it was the first time I remember giving a shit about some chick called Jennifer Lopez. This was for sure before that video where she went to the ‘underground millennium rave party’ with all the lasers (incidentally, that set my expectations for millennium incredibly high).
This video was such a good idea, that JenniCam thing was really going down pretty big right then. In fact, her website looks exactly like JenniCam’s website.
The one thing I always remember about this video was the bit where she dances in the little silver dress and the big ass heels.
I was all ‘mommy, mommy, look how Mariah Carey can dance in big high heels!’ (yeah, I think it was around 2002 I realised they were separate people).

I don’t remember what movie this was for, but if it was Halle Berry blowing the President I am kinda sure that I should be pretty pissed that I missed it.

I don’t know what it is about this song. It almost makes me cry it is so rad. I know this isn’t so forgotten, but it totally rules.
This is probably the most powerful ‘memory’ song in existence for me. I can hardly enjoy it I get to wrapped up in shit that happened a decade ago.
You know how to signify the ‘70s they always play some Hendrix song, this is totally the ‘90s version of the Hendrix song. Could anything of closed the decade better?
